PURPOSE

Parental Consent Alberta (PCA) exists to defend and uphold traditional, rational, and proven parenting rights, roles, responsibilities and powers for Albertans. We ardently wish to convince politicians of the underlying reasons/rationality for parental authority and to implore the State to remedy governance overreach negatively impacting parenting consent dynamics and adversely affecting children’s health and sexuality/gender development. PCA supporters note:

Parental Authority

Parental authority is vital in a child's life as it gives them structure and direction. Our children rely on us to tell them what is right or wrong as well as what they should or shouldn't do. This instruction gives children a stable, safe and healthy foundation from which they can grow and explore the world. Parental authority covers all the rights and duties parents have towards their children. These powers are set out in Alberta Family Law Act s.21 para 5 and 6 (click here for the list of rights).

Parental Consent

Parental consent is something that needs to be requested and approved before adults can carry out any activity with a child. Since children (minors) cannot make informed decisions for themselves, they need to obtain formal authorization from parents or guardians before they can take part in some activities and associations.

Children's Decision-making

Decision-making is one of the most important skills our children need to develop to become healthy and mature adults. Decision-making is crucial because the decisions our children make particularly in the domains of human sexuality, gender development, and sexual relations dictate the paths that their lives take. The ability of children to make sound/informed decisions is influenced by factors such as age, maturity, cognitive level, emotional/psychological history, peer pressure, family values and education/indoctrination. Ironically, 21st Century politicians of all stripes seem bent on the unprecedented erosion of parental consent and oversight authorities in these very important domains.

Starting from age five, Alberta children have been empowered to secret consent (decision-making) independence: (1) in their association with the “Gay-Straight Alliance Club - GSA-Network - LGBTQ Activist Chain,” and (2) in sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI) self-identification while attending school.

FOUNDER OF PCA

Carman Bradley is the Founder of Parental Consent Alberta. He is also the researcher, analyst, and author of the website content. He has been married since 1978 and has three daughters, two sons-in-law, two granddaughters and a grandson in the extended family. He has retired from business consulting and has been a public advocate for traditional parenting rights, roles, responsibilities and powers since 2015. In November 2016, he founded, researched, authored and launched Bill10CourtChallenge.Org. The current parental rights, children’s health and family autonomy petition was initiated as part of Bill 10 Court Challenge Organization social activism.

PCA VOLUNTEERS

PCA does not solicit donations.  The “currencies” we desire are petition signatures and donated volunteer time. Spreading the PCA information and winning signatures for the petition involves supporters working within their extended families, communities, associations and churches. Become an active voice for parental rights, children’s health and family autonomy vis-à-vis the State.

HOST A PCA PRESENTATION AND PETITION/PARENTS' BILL OF RIGHTS DISCUSSION

Volunteer to host a PCA event, which includes a 7min, 15min or 24min video (found under Resources) and then a group discussion.
